Our Vision
We strive to empower downtrodden and underprivileged sections of society and provide them with the resources, opportunities and skills that are necessary to compete with the mainstream in people health and nutrition, safe water and sanitation, quality education & skill building and Education, Health, Environment, Women Empowerment, Rural Development, Agriculture, Culture, Skill Development, Community Development, Housing, HIV prevention and the protection of children and adolescents from violence and exploitation, rural skills up-gradation, income generation, child labour elimination.
Our Mission
SOCIETY FOR DEVELOPMENT ACTION (SDA) is to empower deprived and underprivileged children, youth, farmers, women and rural areas through multiple social activities such as health camps, livelihood programmes, education, special trainings, exposure visits, financial literacy, hostels, schools etc. We envision a democratic society in which people coexist in mutual harmony cutting across lines of gender, caste, creed, color and religious and enjoy equal access to rights and development.
Our History
SOCIETY FOR DEVELOPMENT ACTION (SDA) was registered in 1994 as a non-profit voluntary service society at SPSR Nellore district, Andhra Pradesh, India. SOCIETY FOR DEVELOPMENT ACTION (SDA) was a need-based awakening by a group of like-minded social working youngsters to help the needy in times of urgency. Nellore and nearby areas’ socio-economic and educational conditions were so backward and had never experienced voluntary service or any of such development facilitating support as of the other places in the district or the then State. Seeing the much rearward conditions of the people and the areas, we thought and decided to support the people and the areas through a process of participatory aspects – SOCIETY FOR DEVELOPMENT ACTION (SDA) and rural people’s-collective works for their development. SOCIETY FOR DEVELOPMENT ACTION (SDA) is working for the poorest of the poor. The SOCIETY FOR DEVELOPMENT ACTION (SDA) has been working in the field of child health and nutrition, safe water and sanitation, quality education & skill building and we organize Health, Environment, Women Empowerment, Rural Development, Agriculture, Culture, Skill Development, Community Development, Housing, HIV prevention and the protection of children and adolescents from violence and exploitation, rural skills up-gradation, income generation, child labour elimination etc.
